developed and tested photocatalysis
Photocatalysis is a technique for removing bacteria, viruses, mold and chemical gases. This occurs through a chemical reaction where electromagnetic radiation in the ultraviolet region activates a catalyst. The most widely used photocatalyst is titanium dioxide.
Photocatalyst is rated by EU Member States as one of the technicians with the greatest growth potential, and it is one of the areas where application of nanotechnology has come the furthest.
Photocatalysis is a sustainable process for air and water purification, surface protection, and self-cleaning on surfaces exposed to contamination. For example, concrete, cement, painted surfaces, glass, ceramics, textiles etc.
